COURAGE: THE HEART OF IT ALL

As Maya Angelou put it, "Courage is the most important of all the virtues because without courage, you can't practice any other virtue consistently."

Consider this: courage comes from the French word for heart. And just as the heart pumps life to the rest of the body, courage is what puts love into action. Without it, love stays stuck. We can't really love fully without the courage to act on it.

"Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage," Anaïs Nin wrote. This summer we're exploring how to expand our courage. Courage isn't always easy, but it's necessary. And like any muscle, it gets stronger with practice.
