The Heartbeat of West Hill
THE HEARTBEAT OF WEST HILL
Drum Circle - Don’t miss us this week!
Master musician, Triz Remedios joins us in the hall this Sunday; she’s inviting us to create a circle, cast it wide, and share the beat of our hearts - by drumming together. This will be a very special time - if you are online with us, no matter how far, we need you too! If you have a drum - bring it with you!
BRING YOUR DRUMS
If you have a drum - please bring it with you to the hall or to the screen (any drum will do, even something home made). We’ll have an assortment of drum in the building for anyone who doesn’t have one handy, or who needs to travel lightly.
Tomorrow is a BIG day for the West Hill community!
Over the past 4 years, many people have contributed to our Action Plan - dreaming, facilitating, and working hard behind the scenes to implement a series of priorities to create a vibrant future for West Hill.
Now it’s time to celebrate - the work, the learning, the energy and synergy, the leadership and friendships that happened along the way. Look how far we’ve come!
Join Jean (Fearless leader of our Action Planning Committee), Mike, Joe, Martin and the worldwide community as we pause to celebrate, and then gear up for the next leg of this wonderful journey... Together!
MEET TRIZ REMEDIOS
Triz classically trained master musician dedicated to the transformative power of sound. Through a deep passion for the art of sound in healing and well-being, she developed a unique approach blending traditional classical methods with contemporary sound practices into a profound synergy that heightens awareness, connection, and a sense of well-being through the use of sound. In this approach, sound and frequency, are used as a bridge to connect with deeper aspects of consciousness and experience.
Through her work and learning with traditional Indigenous practitioners, Triz earned the name ‘healer of healers.’ These encounters broadened her understanding of frequency to include plant medicine and animal medicine traditions. She is a carrier of Peruvian Whistling Vessels, which are psycho-acoustical instruments, and holds drum circles and sound journeys throughout the larger GTA area.
Triz will tell you that she is deeply engaged in exploring human energy, studying its nuances through multiple modalities, including sound frequency, plants, minerals, qigong, and sacred form. Every sound experience is designed to encourage harmony among body, mind, inner-self, and inter-connection, creating space for each person to explore their own transformative potential through the power of sound.
READING
Stories are the most powerful way we humans learn. Every community,
like every person, is full of stories. Sharing certain stories deepens a community's connections. If people don't know or can't learn your stories, they won't know or understand your community. They can't know who you are, what you do, or how what you do matters. Stories are how members, future members, and outsiders learn the values and the value of the community. The stories must be shared so that members can understand the community's authentic values and identity.
