The Art of Community

THE ART OF COMMUNITY

This September, West Hill is launching an eight-week series and book study exploring the elements and practices that can make our community deeper and stronger. We’re excited to be joined by Spiritual Seekers United in Community (SSUC) for the book study.

The series is based on Charles Vogl’s The Art of Community: 7 Principles for Belonging, which draws on thousands of years of wisdom to explore the elements that shape meaningful community — belonging, boundaries, rituals, shared stories, symbols, spaces, and pathways into deeper participation. We’ll be engaging these elements not just as ideas, but as an invitation to pursue deeper and stronger community together.

To learn more about the book or purchase a copy, visit charlesvogl.com/books. It’s also available through the Toronto Public Library and other local libraries.

Each week has two components: a Sunday morning talk that introduces the chapter’s theme, and a midweek book study that takes the conversation deeper. Stay tuned for an announcement about the book study... we are just settling on timing that we hope will work for most.

Whether you’ve been with us every week or it’s been a while, this is a great place to jump in. We hope to see you as we explore the art of community together.
