Inspired by Hollywood - 2019 Series

Inspired by Hollywood

For several weeks each winter, our Sunday gathering draws inspiration from Hollywood, bringing the innovation, challenges, and provocation of the silver screen into our Perspective(s). It is a wonderful way to engage newcomers so don't hesitate to bring your friends to explore and discuss these amazing films.

Please watch the movie beforehand and then join us Sunday for the inspiration.

This Sunday, February 17th, we'll be talking about "Green Book".

Directed by Peter Farrelly. Produced by Jim Burke, Brian Hayes Currie, Peter Farrelly, Nick Vallelonga and Charles B. Wessler.Written by Nick Vallelonga, Brian Hayes Currie and Peter Farrelly.

"When Tony Lip (Mortensen), a bouncer from an Italian-American neighborhood in the Bronx, is hired to drive Dr. Don Shirley (Ali), a world-class Black pianist, on a concert tour from Manhattan to the Deep South, they must rely on "The Green Book" to guide them to the few establishments that were then safe for African-Americans. Confronted with racism, danger-as well as unexpected humanity and humor-they are forced to set aside differences to survive and thrive on the journey of a lifetime." - Rotten Tomatoes

If you miss a Sunday or would like to catch up on any service from this or any other series, feel free to listen to our West Hill United Podcast.
